Colombia Coffee Review

Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?

Coffee from It Is Colombian again?

Yes, hurray! Thank you Mario for always bringing me his new yummy coffee from Colombia.

If you haven’t known who is Mario, read this

I somehow forget how did we meet each other but he always has this extreme positive energy and his signature smile on his face. And of course, his excellent coffee from Colombia always in his pocket.

This time he brought me 2 microlot coffee: The Force and El Dorado. These 2 coffee have very different characters but are truly good stuffs.

Review: The Force - A Definite Surprise

Colombia Coffee The Force

Bean’s Profile:

Name: The Force Coffee
Region: Huila
Variety: Caturra
Farmer: Don Albeiro
Altitude: 1600 M.A.S.L
Process: Washed with 24 hours fermentation + sun dry

I swear this coffee is going to give you a surprise.

I did cupping and pull an espresso for The Force.

Have to say the flavours were subtle in the cupping bowl. It gave me nutty but sweet impression with mild acidity. Quite full body and lingering aftertaste.

The best part was the espresso. I used my go-to recipe 19g coffee : 38ml espresso.

The espresso was so sweet that I tasted honey, red fruits and plum; very clean coffee. And I like the body as well. I shared with my roaster friends and they were also amazed. I hope you were having the espresso with me so that you know how much we love the espresso from The Force.

Review: El Dorado - Your Evening Coffee

Colombia Coffee El Dorado

Bean’s Profile:

Name: El Dorado Coffee
Region: Cundinamarca
Variety: Castillo Organic
Farmer: Luz Helena
Altitude: 1565 M.A.S.L
Process: Washed with 16 hours fermentation + sun dry

This coffee has a very different character from The Force from how it smell. I smell spices from grinding it.

For this coffee I only did a filter version on a Kinto Drip Stand.

I used the my regular recipe of 15g coffee : 225ml filter coffee. It was very clean and nutty with a strong and distinct hazelnut flavour.

This is for me a relaxing evening coffee. It is smooth and sweet. Simply enjoyable.

Forbidden Final Verdict

I am very fond to It Is Colombian ’s coffee.

So far I tried all 3 coffee they are selling at the moment.

Have to say they are better to brew as an espresso. And this is very important because espresso machine is a magnifier to all goods and bads of a coffee. If a coffee can go through this magnifier and come out beautifully, it’s a solid proof that the coffee has been taken care very well.

Looking forward to their next amazing coffee.
